Champions for Change

Purpose

We are on a mission to encourage every single child to aim high, dream big and change the world.  We appreciate that children may not always have access to safe environments where they feel inspired and confident. Champions for Change aims to execute our mission by virtually connecting inspirational champions from all over the world with students that would not otherwise have the ability to access them.  These champions will share, inspire and answer questions personally selected by our students. The hope is that by speaking face to face with champions working in interesting careers, students will have the confidence to take their first steps towards the beginning of their dreams.

This year, despite the issues with COVID, we managed to connect our amazing champions with students around Aotearoa. Due to privacy reasons, we cannot share the videos and photos from the classrooms but here are a few of our champion profiles below and a few snaps from our program so far!

Our champions chat to students about the importance of reading, finding your passion and how they dealt with obstacles to reach their goals. To give us a big nudge in the right direction, Foundation North kindly awarded our program with funding to continue mentoring and encouraging students across the country. We are very grateful for the Pasifika Futuremakers Fund from Foundation North for the incredible support.

As COVID is beginning to raise more virtual learners, we have also encouraged families to do online story time and activities with us through our CFC youTube channel. I'm sure you'll find a familiar story in there!
If you are an organisation, business or keen individual that can offer support for our programs, please get in touch with us. Thank you once again to Foundation North!
